With major telecom operators already having boarded the 4GLTE (long- term evolution) bandwagon, Russia's conglomerate
Sistema Shyam Teleservices (SSTL) on Monday said that it will start 4G services in India with fresh investment of around $200 million (Rs 1,080 crore) over next three or four years.
"We are not going to start investing in the 4G LTE services this year. It will be spread over three or four years. The services will be focussed mainly on tier- 2 and tier- 3 cities. We now have an enhanced network which will deliver excellent quality and a clear roadmap to LTE (4G). Our network is also easily upgradable with an investment of Rs 1,080 crore," SSTL president and CEO Vsevolod Rozanov said on Monday.
Bharti Airtel has already
rolled out 4G services in five cities and Reliance Jio Infocomm has ambitious plans for a pan- India rollout later this year.
