The massiverejig in Tata's board has left everyone wondering where the confluence of thehistoric company and a talented chairman went wrong. Cyrus had taken the reinsfrom Ratan Tata himself four years back in December 2012. Ratan Tata will resumehis position as an interim chairman for the next four months until the boardsettles with a new chairman.
CyrusMistry took the position of Chairman with a strong determination to make harshdecisions for the greater good of the company. The reason behind Mistry's sacking is far from clear.

- Later hereceived his Master of Science degree in management from the London BusinessSchool
- Mistry'sgrandfather had bought shares in Tata Sons in the 1930s. The shares amount tomore than 18 per cent of the total share holdings which also makes CyrusMistry's father, the single largest shareholder in the company
