G V Sanjay Reddy, 50, Vice Chairman, GVK Power and Infrastructure Ltd, the man behind Mumbai's T2 Airport, spoke about his life's mantra at the FICCI Ladies Organisation event in New Delhi on Saturday.
He said he had only one goal in life: to work towards happiness. "State of business and state of mind should be kept separate. And that is the only way to achieve mental balance and focus."
Though Reddy said that a person he is still very shy, but he likes to let his work do the talking. "In every work you do make a distinct impact... Create an impact in whatever you do." EMRI, an initiative of the GVK Foundation, he believes, is his biggest impact. Short for Emergency Management and Research Institute, EMRI runs emergency response services in 14 states and has a fleet of some 7,000 ambulances, according to its website.
Reddy derives his positivity from his daily doze of yoga, exercise and his wife and that in turn drives him in life.
"I believe that whatever you take up, give it your 100 per cent. Once you have a goal, you can achieve anything. Select an area of focus and work towards it. And sooner than later you get there."
Reddy also touched upon the fact that the infrastructure sector is going through trouble. "If india has to develop, infrastructure has to take off in a big way." He said hopefully the new government will be able to give a direction to the sector.
