Infosys Q4 net profit rises 3.5% to Rs 3,097 crore

Its earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) stood at Rs 3,449 crore.  Revenue for FY16 is likely to grow at 10-12 per cent in constant currency terms, the company said.

Infosys Ltd, India's second-largest software services exporter , on Friday posted a 3.5 per cent rise in quarterly net profit, lagging analyst estimates.

Infosys , which provides IT services to clients like Apple Inc, Volkswagen AG and Wal-mart Stores Inc, posted Rs 3,097 crore ($487.10 million) in net profit in the March quarter, up from Rs 2,992 crore a year earlier.

Analysts, on average, were expecting it to make Rs 3,186 crore, according to Thomson Reuters data.

Revenue for the company, which makes more than two-thirds of its sales from clients in the United States and Europe, rose 4.2 per cent to Rs 13,411 crore.

Its earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) stood at Rs 3,449 crore.  Revenue for FY16 is likely to grow at 10-12 per cent in constant currency terms, the company said.

The software company registered an attrition rate of 13.4 per cent during the period under review.

At 2:39 pm, the Infosys stock was trading 1.25 per cent down on the BSE.  The Sensex was trading 238 points lower to 27,520 points.
