Infosys Technologies has changed its name to Infosys Ltd after it received approval from the Ministry of Coroprate Affairs.
"The company has received approval from Registrar of Companies, Karnataka, Ministry of Corporate Affairs to change the name of the company from Infosys Technologies Ltd" to "INFOSYS LTD"," the company told in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange on Thursday.
"The change is effective from June 16, 2011," it added.

In April, the company appointed veteran banker
KV Kamath its new chairman to replace its founder chairman N R Narayana Murthy.

In this month, INFOSYS appointed its current Chief Financial Officer V Balakrishnan, senior Vice President and Member of the Executive Council B G Srinivas, Senior Vice President and Global Head (Banking and Capital Markets) Ashok Vemuri on the board of the company.
The company also appointed Ann Fudge, former chairman and CEO of Young and Rubicam Brands on the board. She is also on the board of GE, Novartis and Unilever.
