If you are a regular gym goer or fitness freak you now have a reward in store.
Health insurance companies are now going to charge less on their insurance covers for their health conscious customers.
Cigna TTK health insurance on Wednesday launched "Get ProActiv India" which is a pay-as-you-work out concept for its policyholders.
Through this concept, the company is offering cheaper covers for those who burn more calories.
In an Economic Times report, Sandeep Patel, CEO & MD of Cigma TTK, said that the company's mobile app can be synced with any fitness wearable like Fitbit and Garmin that will monitor and keep log of the customer's daily health activities.
"The more you workout, the higher the reward points on the app. At the end of the year, you can use the points to pay less for your policy or use them towards availing of other health benefits like pharmacy bills, doctors' consultations," said Sandeep Patel.
Walking activities automatically get updated on the app and non-trackable activities like yoga, aerobics, dance, can be manually entered in activity log.
Following the same trend, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Co launched a pay-as-you-drive motor insurance policy where customers who drive safe and well are rewarded.
This will be done through a device fitted in the vehicle that will track provide real time feedback on the company's mobile app.
