Anil Ambani-promoted Reliance Infrastructure's consolidated net profit in second quarter of this fiscal remained almost flat at Rs 361 crore.
The company had reported Rs 360 crore net profit in the July-September quarter of the last fiscal, it said in a filing to the BSE.
The total operating income of the company during the quarter under review rose to Rs 5,729 crore against Rs 3,989 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
While income from electricity business of the company remained almost static during the quarter at Rs 3,260 crore; the major topline boost came from its engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and contracts business at Rs 2,211 crore from just Rs 712 crore in the year-ago period.
Income from infrastructure business also rose to Rs 77 crore from Rs 12 crore a year ago and "other operating income" contributed Rs 180 crore to the topline during the quarter.
Total expenditure of the company during the reporting quarter was higher at Rs 5,127 crore compared to Rs 3,477 crore in the same quarter last year.
Interest outgo during the quarter was higher at Rs 251 crore from Rs 162 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal, it said.
