Superstar Krishna, known for movies including Thene Manasulu and Alluri Seetharama Raju, died at the age of 80 Actor Rajinikanth, also fondly known as Thalaiva, took to Twitter to pay condolences to Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu’s father and veteran actor superstar Krishna. Thalaiva said that working with the veteran in three films were memories he would "always cherish”. Rajinikanth had collaborated with Krishna in films Ram Robert Rahim, Anna Dammula Saval and Iddaru Asadhyule.
Rajinikanth wrote, “The demise of Krishna Garu is a great loss to the Telugu film industry… working with him in three films are memories I will always cherish. My heartfelt condolences to his family… may his soul rest in peace.”
RRR and Janatha Garage actor Jr NTR also paid his last respects to the stalwart and wrote, “Krishna Garu is another name for adventure. Apart from many experimental films and distinctive characters, your credit for introducing many techniques to Telugu cinema will always be remembered. My thoughts are with Mahesh Anna and the family. Om Shanthi. Superstar forever.”
Film writer and director Anil Ravipudi, known for movies like Sarileru Neekevvaru and F2: Fun and Frustration wrote, “ Shocked and saddened on hearing this heartbreaking news about superstar Krishna Garu… Huge loss to Telugu cinema. He is a pure soul, and meeting him was one of the greatest moments for me. My deepest condolences to Mahesh Garu and the family.”
Kartikeya 2 actor Nikhil Siddhartha hailed Krishna as a legend, icon and an “inspiration for generations.” He tweeted, “This is heartbreaking. Our superstar Krishna Garu is no more. Legend, icon [and an] inspiration for generations…. We will all miss you sir. Praying for strength to the family Manjula Ghattamaneni, Mahesh sir. May god be with you in this testing time.”
Yashoda and The Family Man Season 2 actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu also paid her last respects to the legend and wrote, “My heartfelt condolences to Mahesh Garu and the whole family. #RIPSuperStarKrishnaGaru. You will live forever in our memories.”
S Thaman, known for his music in movies like Sarkaru Vaari Paata and Varisu, shared a note on superstar Krishna. Hailing the cinema legend as a pioneer, Thaman said, “Eastman colour, cinemascope, 70mm, Dts. A pioneer who believed cinema is not just an art form but is a technology vessel.”
