iPhone 5 to have slimmer screen: Report

Apple's next iPhone, expected to be dubbed iPhone 5, will use a slimmer screen than the 4S model , a Wall Street Journal report said quoting people familiar with the matter.

The Wall Street Journal had earlier reported that iPhone 5 will have a larger screen than that of the iPhone 4S model. So having a slimmer screen will help Apple to reduce the weight of the new iPhone.

The report said that iPhone 5 is being currently manufactured by Asian component makers and next iPhone would be using in-cell technology to make the screen thinner.

A thinner screen could help the next iPhone become slimmer, or make extra room available for other components, the report said.
