Did KFC serve fried rat to US customer instead of chicken wings?

Posting a video on social networking site Facebook, Dixon said: "It sent deep chills throughout my whole body! I've been feeling weird ever since. It's time for a lawyer, be safe don't eat fast food!".

Food quality has been in news for some time now. While Nestle is facing the heat over its popular snack Maggi noodles, among other products, Mother Dairy was cornered on Tuesday after a food watchdog found one of its milk samples containing detergent. And the unhealthy news is not just restricted to India.

The latest company under fire is Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC).

US citizen Devorise Dixon took to social media to share how he spotted a 'tail' in a strangely shaped chicken breast which he purchased from the California outlet of the fast food chain. He said when he made a closer inspection, it turned out to be a fried rat.

The post sparked off a huge debate on the social media.

Dixon claims he went back to the outlet and the manager, after realising that it was a rat, apologised to him.

However, KFC officials have denied any evidence to support his claims.

In a reply to the Facebook post, KFC wrote: "KFC has made various attempts to contact this customer, but he is refusing to talk to us directly or through an attorney. Our chicken tenders often vary in size and shape, and we currently have no evidence to support this allegation. We have extended the opportunity to have an independent lab evaluate the product at our own expense, but the customer refuses to provide the product in question."
