Coldplay fans heartbroken after tickets get sold out on BookMyShow

Hundreds of fans were left disappointed after the BookMyShow website failed to process many ticket transactions for the much anticipated Coldplay concert due to errors on the website.

"My transaction went through and then it failed!," said Sai Sethu, a Coldplay fan.

"First, how can they have limited tickets for a Coldplay concert? Second, they are making us wait in queues now?" another Coldplay fan, Najwa Maqbool said.  

Book My Show the online ticketing brand begun its sales for the much anticipated Coldplay concert - the Global Citizen Festival India 2016, at 12.15 pm on Thursday.

The early bird tickets for Rs 5,000 were the first to go on sale followed by the Rs 7,500 ticket.

However, many fans were soon let down by the website's traffic that dampered their chance of buying a ticket.

When visited, the website displayed the waiting queue:

And for some the queues were just unrealistic going upto 60,000.

In 10 minutes of the opening, the Rs 5000 early bird tickets were sold out.

Finally, after waiting in a queue of over 2,000 people, Book My Show directed users to the main page.

Users were allowed to purchase only two tickets per transaction.

Yet, many users couldn't move beyond filling their credentials due to an error on the page.

Soon enough the Rs 7,500 early bird tickets were sold out too.
