
Controversy-hit Aamir Khan-starrer PK continues to set the cash registers ringing at cinemas, with box office collections crossing the Rs 200-crore mark within 10 days.
Christmas and New Year season seems to have spelled magic for the Raj Kumar Hirani-directed movie as the movie is doing phenomenally well not only in India but in the international market too.
According to Boxofficeindia.com, the movie has earned Rs 234 crore so far. It is set to become the highest grossing film ever if its second week collections net Rs 100 crore.
Vinod Chopra Films and Rajkumar Hirani Films, in association with Disney India, released 'PK' on December 19.
PK had collected Rs 182.58 crore in the first week (December 19-26). On Christmas Day itself, the movie collected Rs 27.55 crore in India.
Featuring Khan as an alien, the film takes a hard hitting swipe at organised religion, god and godmen, "stirring thought and discussion".
The film also stars Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjay Dutt.

According to analysts at Boxofficeindia.com, PK has good chances of grossing Rs 100 crore nett in the second week as it collected Rs 53.25 crore nett in its second weekend. Even though its was a 41 per cent drop in collections compared to first weekend, analysts said the extended holiday season could help the movie narrow the losses.
