Leather, leather, leather. Summer’s over and winter is sending out gently probing feelers. So pack up your cotton belts and embroidered belts and get that slim-leather strap and unfussy (but prominent) buckle look. Remember, a belt is not designed only to keep your pants from falling down. It is one of the most subtle elements in your wardrobe, and it pays to get it right.
Buckles: Apart from ornamental or special belt buckles, there are basically two kinds of buckles.
1. The classic buckle: This is the kind you find on most belts. You slide the strap through the hoop and fasten it from below the strap.

2.The hook buckle: This is the other kind of buckle, which is similar to the classic buckle but with one key difference. You fasten it from above.

What to wear with formals?
Always wear solid colours without fussy designs. Black and brown will look good any day of the week.
What not to wear with formals?
Don’t wear belts that are overtly ornate in design. Remember, even if the designs are done tastefully, they will divert attention from the trousers.
