Delhi: Lap it up!

Like all A.D. Singh ventures, the Lap Garden, too, is easy on the eyes. The dimly-lit al fresco dining space, spread across 10,000 square feet, is all sunken chairs and cosy clusters. Laid back and inviting, it is in stark contrast to Lap, the ber-luxe, membersonly nightclub ensconced inside. But the choice of location that's Hotel Samrat, is a dampener.
Renovation plans are all very well, but nothing's evident as of now. The lights went out for a good ten minutes when I went visiting.
The restaurant specialises in world cuisine, ranging from South America to the Mediterranean and South-East Asia, from Fois Gras Burgers to Phyllo-Wrapped Raan. I liked the Amuse Bouche-foamed Corn Chowder with Pesto Crostini-served by the chef, and the flavourful classic Minestrone Soup. The cocktails, the Water Melon Musk Melon Martinis in particular, are sure to be a hit with the ladies.
