Mumbai: Melting pot

It's no secret that there's a dearth of sprawling lawns in Mumbai and from the look of it, Twist Lounge and Fine Dine seems like a standalone, cosy family dining space. Walk in and the restaurant holds a surprise element. It stands on an abundance of space: All of 5,000 square feet. The exterior of the place isn't extravagant.
Add to that, it stands next to a petrol pump, down the road from the everbustling Juhu Circle towards Silver Beach. But the interiors have a classic look. Twist has a sit-down dining area, which is quite plain compared to the rustic “outdoor” hookah lounge. Next to the lounge is the restaurant's very own pub, and a private dining area (available only on reservations) that seats 12. Over all, the restaurant can play host to close to 300 guests. The music, hookah and hi-fi service is definitely a draw for college goers; the dining area is a hit among the affluent residents of Juhu for its very expansive menu.
The menu offers popular world cuisine, namely Mexican, Italian, Chinese and Indian. The reluctant non-vegetarian is going to love the vegetable crunchy in the Chinese menu, whereas the Chicken Tawa Masala done up a little spicy with less oil is just heavenly. If you've got the appetite, try the chicken and mushroom risotto— you can even get your risotto/pasta tailormade to suit your taste. The desserts are very basic but the gulab jamun is just the right temperature.
For those who are busy relishing the currently-termed exotic cuisines, Twist will be a refreshing walk down memory lane.
