Mumbai: Multi-cuisine bonanza

The Flute has several things going for it. A welldefined multi-cuisine menu, a spacious 1,500 sq. ft restaurant in the middle of some of the most popular sights of Mumbai, and it is also an all-day bar. The restaurant has three segregated areas-the dining space, which opens solely for lunch and dinner; the lounge, which again operates for meals only, but the bar here is open all-day; and a coffee shop, which is the equivalent of a 24-hour snack bar.
Comfortably set, The Flute attracts a lot of businessmen because of its location. It becomes a hip lounge in the evenings and hosts Ghazal nights on Wednesdays and Thursdays. There are several food options-ranging from Indian, Chinese, Italian and even a few Tex-Mex offerings. The restaurant is quite good with mixing the menus without messing up. The Chinese menu is especially impressive. The spices are just right and the unique concoctions are delectable.
The Tomato Soup flavoured with mint is exceptional as is the Phoolzhadi Chicken Tikka starter. It all comes together with the Indian main course of Dal Makhani, Rogan Josh, Aloo Dum and Pudina Parantha. The Flute's March-April offering is the IPL specials. Apart from contests and match screenings, the restaurant is to host two food festivals-one of which is an IPL special. The restaurant has a large projector screen as well as several plasma screens across this property so that all 140 diners can enjoy a special set menu during the screenings. So, if you don't have tickets for the matches for this IPL season, head to The Flute!
