As Tears Go By (1988):
Wai’s first feature was a crime caper set in the mean streets of Hong Kong. A fairly trendy film, inspired in part by Scorsese movies, it showed promises of things to come.

Eros (The Hand) (2004):
Evidently Wai was still in the mood for love. In this period piece about the relationship between a tailor and a courtesan, Wai outstripped his illustrious co-directors with a sexy film about memory and longing.

My Blueberry Nights (2007):
Wai’s first film in English is a conventional road movie with expected post-modernist pop culture flourishes. A heavyweight cast of Jude Law, Norah Jones, Rachel Weisz and Natalie Portman star.
