ADVENTURE
Great Himalayan Trail, Nepal
For pure adventure with a double shot, its difficult to beat the 1,700-km-long GHT. This epic trail traverses the entire length of the Nepal Himalayas. We wouldn't suggest tackling the entire trail, which would take some 160 days to complete. However, the trail is broken up into 7 stages (ranging from 18 to 34 days each), each of them a gem of alpine trekking. So whether you want to sleep in Everest's shadow, cross the famous Tilman's Pass down to the lush forests of Langtang, or trek through the Tibetan landscape of Dolpa, this trail has it all.
Where to stay: Trek organisers will provide you with tented/ tea-house accommodation wherever it is appropriate.

The region is ringed by volcanoes, the highest of which is Mt Erciyes. You can even climb it and check out the great views of both the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea. Definitely a bike trip of a lifetime.

Kayaking in Greenland
Greenland may be the climate hotspot right now, but at least for the timebeing, those gigantic glacial ice sheets that cover the continent are still standing. This makes kayaking in this Arctic environment all the more thrilling. The Inuits first used kayaks here to aid in hunting seals and whales. Today it's the best way to get up close and personal with the grand icebergs that dot the seas around Greenland. Experts can take their own kayaks but there are many guided groups who can give you some great days of Arctic kayaking.
Where to stay: Guided groups take care of your accommodation at selected wilderness camps.
