Energy and environment solutions provider Thermax acquired Danish boiler and waste heat recovery systems maker Danstoker A/S and its German subsidiary Omnical Kessel for Rs 187 crore ($41.4 million).
While Danstoker A/S specialises in biomass-based boilers, Omnical also makes boilers that use oil and gas besides waste heat recovery systems. The acquisition is expected to serve as a strategic fit for Thermax's packaged boiler business by giving it access to the latest technology, quality and production practices, which will enable it to enhance its product portfolio and tap new markets.
