India's defence budget has increased over the past few years but its share in GDP has remained the same.

India's defence budget for 2018/19 was Rs 4,04,365 crore, which was 7.7 per cent more than the 2017/18 figure. It has remained in the range of 2.1-2.3 per cent of GDP for five years.
