WHAT: Second Interregional Meeting of National Commissions

WHAT TO LOOK FOR: A platform for representative nations to exchange information and experiences towards furthering UNESCO's objectives. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization promotes collaboration among nations through education, science, culture and communication to further universal respect for justice, for rule of law and for human rights and fundamental freedoms as per the Charter of the United Nations.

FIXING FUNDAMENTALS

WHAT: CII WEF National Strategy Day on India

WHEN: November 3-4, New Delhi

WHAT TO LOOK FOR: Nearly 300 leaders from the government, businesses, academia and civil society from India and abroad will come together to discuss the challenges of sustainable urbanisation, economic growth and social inclusion under the theme of "Delivering Growth in the New Context". The event will also discuss clean energy and infrastructure deficit, and ways to address these challenges through public-private cooperation.

LEG UP FOR DEFENCE

WHAT: Industry - Defence Linkage

WHEN: November 7, Raipur

WHAT TO LOOK FOR: Taking off from the government's Make in India initiative, it aims to promote investment in defence production units by bringing together defence procurement officials and the corporate sector. The event will be attended by officials from the Ministry of Defence and DRDO, and experts on indigenisation and material procurement from armed forces and defence production units.

TOWARDS A DIGITAL INDIA

WHAT: ICT for Development Information, Communication and Technology: Developing the Nation Digitally

WHEN: November 16, Panaji, Goa

WHAT TO LOOK FOR: Furthering of the Digital India initiative through exchange of knowledge among stakeholders and the government. On the agenda is urban development with specific focus on smart cities, education, health and BFSI.

STANDING UP FOR RIGHTS

WHAT: UN Forum on Business & Human Rights, 2015

WHEN: November 16-18, Geneva, Switzerland

WHAT TO LOOK FOR: The fourth annual forum will assess the progress and take steps to scale up the implementation of UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. It aims to create a dialogue among stakeholders for measuring and reporting on human rights and the significance of national action plans to implement principles, access to remedy and sharing best practices in business.
