WHAT: Solar Invest 2017

WHAT TO LOOK FOR: The Assocham event will debate ways to harness solar power and make it cheaper. On top of the agenda is discussing ways to improve grid stability for evacuating solar power, which would need large investment in utility infrastructure. WHAT TO LOOK FOR: Its an international exhibition and conference on the pharmaceutical industry, hosted by the government of India and FICCI. It provides a platform to global investors to connect with the stakeholders in the Indian pharma sector.

PROMOTING JHARKHAND

WHAT: Global Investor Summit

WHEN: February 16-17, Ranchi

WHAT TO LOOK FOR: The government of Jharkhand has taken numerous steps to improve the overall investment climate of the state. Jharkhand is currently ranked third in the country by the World Bank in terms of "Ease of Doing Business". The Jharkhand government is now organising a "Global Investor Summit" at Ranchi in partnership with CII to showcase investment opportunities.

THE SKILLING CHALLENGE

WHAT: National Conference on Skill Development

WHEN: February 17, Lucknow

WHAT TO LOOK FOR: The Assocham summit puts the spotlight on the need to skill the youth in Uttar Pradesh, Indias most populous state. Skill development is critical for achieving faster, sustainable and inclusive growth along with providing decent employment opportunities to the growing young population, asserts Assocham.

MANAGING WASTE

WHAT: 4TH International Fecal Sludge Management Conference (FSM4)

WHEN: February 19-23, Chennai

WHAT TO LOOK FOR: FSM4 is organised by the Government of India and supported by the Asian Development Bank. Its aim is to share and brainstorm potential solutions that will manage fecal sludge, preventing it from creating any harm to the environment, to formulate policy recommendations that promote best practices, and to identify lessons learned in how to make FSM an integral part of sanitation service delivery.
