The resilience of India Inc. during the economic downturn has won it the top position in a global survey of confidence in corporate leadership.
The resilience of India Inc. during the economic downturn has won it the top position in a global survey of confidence in corporate leadership. The Confidence in Leadership Index by executive search and talent management firm Korn/Ferry International in November also demonstrates that the upturn is bringing confidence back into corporate leadership in most major economies.
India scored the highest on confidence (80), while it ranked second after China in leadership direction (50.4). The survey also revealed that Indian and American executives have the highest trust in their leaders According to Deepak Gupta, Country Head and Managing Director of Korn/Ferry International, India, "Ultimately, strong leadership at the top influences the entire organisation and Indian leaders have stood out as a shining example in recent times. This is reflected in the survey."
The Confidence in Leadership Index is conducted quarterly via an online survey of 500 executives employed in management-level or higher positions. The survey was conducted in 13 countries— Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Russia, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. Globally, confidence has increased across all levels of leadership, in particular on the Board of Directors' ability and CEO's leadership ability.
