In September, the focus on business honchos receded as media outlets became preoccupied with Anna Hazare. Among CEOs, Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata was the most-discussed. He hit the headlines following the news that his group was planning to enter the aviation business and was working out deals with international players for business jets and helicopters, as well as for aircraft management and maintenance services. Tata's remarks that he was ready to invest in West Bengal if there was no hostility towards him, as well as his visit to Assam to hand over 150 Nano cars also received wide coverage.

N.R. Narayana Murthy received the maximum favourable mentions in the media following his retirement as Chairman of Infosys. Business leaders were effusive in their praise of Murthy, who will still keep a benevolent eye on Infosys as its Chairman Emeritus.
