The cover story (How I Did It, August 5) showcased the mettle of leaders who have coasted with victory bringing their companies out of troubled waters. It is not easy to make a comeback when the company is suffering from myriad problems like debts, slowdowns and losses. The headlines were interesting, as were the innovative ways to success described in the numerous stories.

Inactive leadership
Pranab Mukherjee has failed as a finance minister. (Last Chance to Save the Economy, August 5). There is inflation and his wrong policies have created hurdles in economic growth. The falling of the GDP to 5.3 per cent is a serious matter for a socalled future superpower. The UPA lacks good leaders and that is a major problem. National as well regional leaders need to rise above vote bank politics. If India has to get to the top, it needs leaders who can take bold economic and political decisions for the country.
