Your cover story (Watch Your Step, July 8) aptly focussed on some of the vital questions of the hour: ailing leadership, policy paralysis and steps taken to revive the sinking economy. I was impressed by the extensive analysis of the short-sighted schemes and the self-imposed limitations of the government in your story. It is very disappointing to note that our wealth of experience and skills have been neglected by the government in preventing the drift in the economy. The present slowdown cannot be definitely ascribed to lack of awareness but to tactlessness of think tanks and policymakers.
