OIL ‘LEAKS’
The government’s internal intelligence arm, the Intelligence Bureau, “cautioned” the Petroleum Ministry against its on-land exploration schemes, NELP VI, a few months ago.

The comments found mention on an industry website soon thereafter. The IB has now launched an investigation into the “leak” of the sensitive information. The information: Maoist infiltration in Chhattisgarh, sensitive civilian airports in Punjab and archaeological sites in Madhya Pradesh, among others. Evidently, a comedy of errors.
Frequent flier
Fortune 500 oil major Indian Oil Corporation has a high-flying CEO, S. Behuria, who has travelled abroad 20 times in the last one year, spending as much as 58 days overseas during this period.
Notwithstanding his proximity to Petroleum Minister Murli Deora (bridge partner), a recent proposal found resistance in the ministry. Shortly thereafter, a government order solved his problem: PSU navratna officials no longer require the ministry’s permission. Any coincidence?
