In the world of Android tablets, the W4 is successor to the Acer's W3 (that ran Windows RT). It has a bulky design and feels heavy at 415 grams. It features an 8 inch display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution with good viewing angles.
To add a premium feel, Acer has given a brushed metal finish to the plastic chassis and a silver-grey matte finish on the side edges. The W4 has the latest software on board, Windows 8.1. This makes it capable of running all the apps that run on a regular Windows laptop. This includes Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, etc.
A lot many apps are pre-loaded on the tablet, which includes Acer Docs, Acer Media, Acer Photo, Nero BackItUp, Evernote Touch, Amazon, Kindle, newsXpresso, TuneIn radio, etc. It also has the full version of Office Home and Student 2013 onboard.
