Gaming is all about precision and this is exactly what the Logitech G400 optical mouse touts as its best feature. The mouse is easy to grip and comfortable to hold for long hours with the thumb groove on the left adding to feel. The polytetrafluoroethylene feel reduces friction and makes mouse movements very smooth.
This mouse is not peppered with buttons like some high-end gaming options. Instead, there is a back and forward button just above the thumb which can be very handy while browsing, but takes some getting used to. For us, the best feature is undoubtedly the three buttons flanking the roller. They let you increase and reduce dpi so that the mouse movements slow down or speed up as needed. The third button shifts back to the default dpi in one click.
The roller has a bit of latency so that you don't speed away from target during games. In fact, you can feel the roller move. We would have loved the left and right click to have been smoother, but then that is just a thought. Otherwise, this is a good gaming mouse that can also be used as a high-end mouse by regular users.
