Sony Xperia Z3

Sony's smartphones might not be as sought after as the Apple iPhone or the Samsung Galaxy, but they surely are a great combination of software and hardware. And hats off to Sony for making water and dust resistance a standard feature in its flagship smartphones.

After launching the Xperia Z2 earlier this year, Sony has now launched the Z3, with an improved design and processor. Continuing with a 5.2-inch display, the phone has curved corners that make it easy to hold. The back panel is nonremovable and the nano SIM slot and memory card slot are placed on the side.

The device has a 2.5Ghz quad core chipset on Snapdragon 801 SoC and runs Android KitKat operating system. Our unit had 16GB onboard storage, of which 11.5GB is user available. The phone has a 20.7MP camera that captures bright and crisp images.

There are some fancy features, too. For instance, Face allows you to capture yourself as you are shooting with the rear camera. Multi-camera is another feature that allows you to connect two mode smartphones with shoot from three different angles at the time.

Price: Rs 51,990

Specs: 5.2-inch display; 20.7MP camera; 2.5Ghz quad core processor; 16GB internal storage; expandable card slot, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth; 3100 mAh battery

Bag it or junk it: Great phone but is expensive.
