To start recording you need to plug in a USB to the port on the front. The remote has record, plan and other buttons that you would find on a DVR. Press record and the content on screen gets saved on the USB. As recording starts, you will see an icon on the top of the screen. You can move on to watch programmes from other channels, provided they are on the same transponder. This is a bit of a dampener.
Thankfully, you can also record future programmes by going to the Guide. However, you will have trouble with channels that do not have programme details, and there are a few of those. The recorded programmes can be accessed by clicking the media button. The files can be played only through this box.
