BSNL will roll out its IPTV (internet protocol television) across 20 cities initially and expand this service to 100 cities by December this year.
How is IPTV different?
It is more interactive than competing options. For example, viewers can watch, pause, fast forward and rewind movies just as in a DVD player.
How much does it cost?
That’s not yet clear. In Mumbai, MTNL charges a security deposit of Rs 999 for the set-top box, Rs 100 for registration and Rs 100 as monthly fee.
