What is it? It is a free SMS service that Peekamo has launched in India. It works on any mobile phone capable of text messaging or on any data-enabled PC or Mac anywhere in the world.

How does it work? Users need to log on to www.peekamo.com and register their phones. Messages sent from the Peekamo website to phones anywhere in the world are free.
What’s in it for Peekamo? Peekamo will make money by selling ads that will be inserted in the messages that people receive.
What else? Peekamo is building an application that can be downloaded on to web-enabled mobile phones to allow its users to send free messages from their phones. Hitherto, only messages sent from the web to mobile phones were free, while users paid for texts sent from the phone.
