Global growth: A snapshot

Global growth is projected to drop to 2.7 per cent in 2008, from 3.7 per cent in 2007. Much of weakness is originating in high-income countries.

Developing countries' growth is also projected to decline-from 7.8 per cent in 2007 to 6.5 per cent in 2008. However, the growth remains well above the average of the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000-05, says a recent World Bank report.
