What happened to Dilip Chhabria’s plans of launching a made-in-India sports car? Well, the plan is on track. Speaking to Business Today, Chahabria says: “We’re currently conducting a techno-commercial feasibility study on the car (christened S), and if all goes well, it will be launched as scheduled by 2011-12.” The expected price tag: Rs 25-28 lakh. DC Design, Chhabria’s company, is planing to make only 300-400 cars per annum.

On his plans on the Ambierod, a hot rod in the tradition of the great American hot rod cars, Chhabria says his model, based on a Rolls-Royce platform, is expected to be delivered to a UK customer by October-end. That’s not all; his plan to launch a design school is also on schedule and the first phase of the school will be operational by August 2009, he adds.
