Virgin launches new comics
Priced at $2.99 (Rs 119) each, Virgin is presenting Indian mythologies and fables with a contemporary twist. A nefarious conglomerate is intent on stamping out the wisdom contained in the ancient texts.
To fight it, the characters from the Panchatantra emerge from their story-world into modern India to recruit the descendent of the man who created them. Vishnu Sharma, the descendant, fights evil with the help of iPods, cellphones and other gadgets that are so much a part of our contemporary world. Needless to say, after many trials, good prevails over evil in the end. The comics will be available in India soon at Rs 40 each.
