Former Cisco Systems executive Padmasree Warrior is in the race to be Twitter 's new chief executive officer, a report in Bloomberg stated.

Warrior was born and raised in Vijayawada, a city on the banks of Krishna river, Andhra Pradesh. After completing her school and college education from Vijayawada, Warrior did her bachelors in chemical engineering from IIT Delhi and masters in chemical engineering from Cornell University.

The search for Twitter CEO has gained urgency with the company board meeting scheduled for Thursday to discuss the shortlisted names for the same. Sources told Bloomberg that Warrior's name will be discussed upon in the Thursday meeting.

The search for Twitter CEO that has been on for the last three months has seen the company's stock fall by 22 per cent and many product executives leaving the firm during the period.

The company board, which will meet on Thursday to discuss the names shortlisted for the post, is now ringing the alarm bells. CBS Interactive's Jim Lanzone is also said to be among the names being considered by Twitter's board, according to the Bloomberg report.

Twitter's board though in urgency is expected not to take a rushed decision, the report said. Though the company's former chief executive Dick Costolo exit was not a surprised one, the board did not keep a back-up plan ready and opened itself up for the shareholders' scrutiny that led to a decline in its share prices.

Jim Prosser, a spokesman for Twitter, declined to comment on the events.
