Shares of Nestle India surged nearly 4 per cent in trade on Wednesday after the company said 100% of the samples sent from newly manufactured stocks tested by three laboratories have been cleared.

The stock ended flat after hitting an intraday high of Rs 6479, up 3.92 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

"We have received results from all three NABL (National Accreditation Board For Testing And Calibration Laboratories) accredited laboratories mandated by the Hon'ble High Court to test newly manufactured Maggi noodles samples. All the samples of the Maggi Noodles Masala have been cleared with lead much below permissible limits," said Nestle India in a filing to BSE.

The FMCG major said the latest test results validate the company's position that Maggi Noodles were and are safe.

"Nestle India has conducted over 3500 tests representing over 200 million packs in both national as well as international accredited laboratories for testing and all reports are clear," added the company.
