
BSE Sensex came under more pressure in the noon trade with the stockbenchmark down 121 points to 17399.15.
The weak rupee also weighed on the BSE Sensex. The rupee breached the56-mark, down 59 paise at 56.01against the US dollar.
Metal, realty and powerstocks were trading were the worst hit with the sectoral indices down over 1per cent.
Among the BSE Sensex stocks, Jindal Steel,Bajaj Auto and Tata Steel were down over 2 per cent.
Besides, the dollar alsostrengthened against other currencies such as the euro in the overseas marketfollowing disappointing USjobs growth figures, putting furtherpressure on the rupee, dealers said.
Analysts expect the BSE Sensex to remain volatile this week withinvestors awaiting many cues. Infosys,TCS and HDFC are due to release their first quarter earnings this week. IIP datafor May is also due this week.
