The Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman attended an event organised by the Atlantic Council in Washington DC on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank annual meetings. After the steep surge in CPI & WPI in March, she spoke about Inflation for the first time and said that India has crossed the upper limit of 6% but “not so badly.” She further said that India’s focus was to push CAPEX without losing sight of moral obligation towards the underprivileged.
