He’s among the first Chief Ministers to speak out against the massive fiscal burden being caused by political freebies. In an exclusive conversation at the India Today Conclave, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy called for a national consensus to limit the practice of promising freebies to the electorate. Saying the state exchequer was left with no funds for capital investments or even debt servicing, Reddy said the issue cannot be handled by a single state and had to be dealt with at a national level.
