WhatsApp recently rolled out its payment services across India. This means you will now be able to transfer money from your WhatsApp using UPI (Unified Payments Interface). The newly launched payment service has been designed in partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
In order to send money to your friends or family, you need to have a bank account and a debit card.

Be careful about Payment request
If you approve a payment request, it means the transaction is done and your money has been deducted instantly from your bank account, the moment you tap on the 'Tap' icon. The money will be deducted from your bank account immediately. So be careful before accepting a payment request.
Never share OTPs or UPI pin
Never share OTPs or UPI pins over WhatsApp as it may lead to financial fraud. Thus, never share these details with anyone.
Verify
It is always advisable to check and verify if the transaction has been made. Once confirmed, you will know if your money has been transferred to the right person.
