As Auto Expo begins, a look at the big launches on Day 1

Kia Carnival

Kia Motors made a splash on the first day of the Auto Expo with Carnival. It might be priced around Rs 30 lakh. The Carnival will rival Toyota Innova Touring Sport. This is the company's second product after Seltos.

Hyundai Tucson

Hyundai unveiled the Tucson Facelift on the first day. This version comes with BS6-compliant 2.0-litre petrol and diesel variants. It will launch later this year with a few cosmetic changes.

Maruti Suzuki's Futuro-e electric SUV

India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India kickstarted the 15th edition of the biennial Auto Expo on Wednesday showcasing the concept Futuro-e electric SUV concept that will be the foundation of its electric car portfolio during the course of the decade. The concept e-Futuro has been designed and developed in India by in-house engineers at Maruti Suzuki and follows the larger theme of high raised SUV stance vehicles becoming popular with consumers.

Renault Triber

French carmaker Renault unveiled the AMT version of the Triber at the Auto Expo. Along with the AMT, Renault has also launched the new turbo petrol engine.

MG ZS

MG launched the conventional fuel variant of the electric that has already been launched in India.

MG Marvel X

MG Motors has unveiled the Marvel X at its stall at the Auto Expo 2020. This electric vehicle is a luxury crossover with advanced driver assistance and safety technology. On the outside, its paintwork stands out. The Marvel X is 23mm longer and 84mm wider than the MG Hector.

Tata Sierra EV

The legendary Tata Sierra name is back with a stunning concept. It's called the Sierra EV Concept and has a fully electrified powertrain. No specifications have been revealed so far.

Hyundai Nexo

The Hyundai Nexo FCEV was unveiled at the Auto Expo. Its source of power is a fuel cell stack. Chemical reactions between hydrogen and oxygen generate electricity to power the motor of the car. The Nexo can be refilled in five minutes, but Hydrogen filling pumps are still rare in India which may hamper the car's sales.

Tata Altroz EV

Tata has unveiled the all-electric offering the Altroz EV at the Auto Expo. The company's theme for the event is 'Connected India with Responsible and Sustainable Mobility Solutions' and this car is in keeping with his theme. It is expected to be launched before the end of the year.

Great Wall Motors R1

It's being touted as the world's most affordable EV and has been unveiled at the Expo. GWM has showcased around 10 cars at the event, including the electric R1. It comes with 2 battery options in China. It's a hatchback which may soon be available in India.
