As LG bows out of smartphone market, a look at some of its iconic phones

South Korea's LG Electronics Inc announced on April 5 that it will end production and sales of its loss-making smartphone division. This announcement makes it a first major smartphone company to completely withdraw itself from the market

LG had announced in January it was considering all options for the business after logging nearly six years of losses totaling some $4.5 billion. Talks to sell part of the business to Vietnam's Vingroup fell through due to differences about terms, according to sources.

Here are some top LG models known best for their form and design.

LG Chocolate

The LG Chocolate became very popular in United States and South Korea markets. This brand name was used for a variety of fashion mobile phones produced by LG Electronics, in different colors and models. The LG Chocolate made an edge in the world which was crazy about flip phones.
The phone's features included MP3 player, games, camera and internet browser.

LG KS360

LG KS360 came with a side slider. The phone had a perfectly fitted QWERTY keyboard which was back then inspired by Blackberry.

LG Arena

LG Arena, also known as LG KM900, was a mid-level touch phone, with 5-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G. It came with LG's new S-CLASS 3D user interface. The 2009 launch of LG KM900 coincided with the launch of another great smartphone device--HTC Magic or Google G2.

LG Crystal

LG Crystal, also known as LG-GD900, came with a fashion-focused slider with high end specifications. The device was publicly unveiled at Mobile World Congress in 2009. Also, it is claimed to be the world's first transparent design phone. LG Optimus 3D

LG G Flex

This particular device from LG was both fun and showed LG's skill at the same time. This was a curved phone that you could bend without damaging it

The most striking feature about this phone was a model with a leather back. The device had an incredible display with Quad HD resolution, with older Snapdragon 8080 while rivals were using newer Snapdragon 810.
