COVID-19 crisis: Indians caught flouting COVID norms

COVID cases in India are only rising with every passing day. States across the country have even started implementing partial lockdowns due to people flouting COVID norms.

Pune is the recent one to announce night curfew. All the restaurants, bars, malls and religious places will remain closde for seven days.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has said that there is no plan for lockdown as yet in Delhi.

With partying, no masks, no social distancing becoming a new normal, Indians have been found gathered in large numbers on different occasions. Here are some moments when they were caught being careless.

Fun Mall sealed in Lucknow

The Fun Mall in Lucknow's posh Gomti Nagar area has been sealed by the district administration for flouting Covid-19 norms. The mall was even served a notice, despite that, it was found violating norms issued under the Epidemic Act. Apart from the Fun Mall, Mega Shop, Globe Coffee, Gilore Pan Shop, Mehman Laddu, My Bar Headquarter and Panchwati Sweets too were sealed.

Politicians violating COVID safety norms

Despite stricter COVID 19 guidelines with night curfew timings extended by an hour in 10 cities, leaders from across parties in Rajasthan have been holding huge election meetings and addressing rallies in Rajasthan's Bhilwara, Churu and Rajsamand. Senior netas across parties are campaigning and flouting masks wearing rules and social distancing norms.

Mumbai's Dadar market

Despite massive surge in coronavirus infections and the threat of a lockdown in Maharashtra, a massive crowd was witnessed at Dadar Market in Mumbai.
People were seen with no masks and flouting social distancing guidelines.
Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray also warned of restrictions similar to lockdown in the state due to people flouting COVID rules.

Punjab's Baba Rode Shah shrine

Even as Punjab scrambles to contain the surge in COVID cases, hundreds of devotees, without facemasks, gathered at the Baba Rode Shah shrine in Bhoma village of Amritsar district to participate in the two-day annual fair, where customary liquor offerings are made.

'Laddu maar Holi' in Mathura

Thousands of people without facemasks or any regard for social distancing norms, gathered at the Shri Radha Rani temple in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura to celebrate 'Laddu maar Holi'.

Jharkhand minister flouted Covid norms

Jharkhand Labour Minister Satyanand Bhokta was caught on camera flouting coronavirus guidelines when he visited his constituency, Chatra, and attended a congregation to observe the Holi Milan event.
The photos of the event, which were shared on social media, showed Bhokta and many others sitting close to each other and singing to celebrate Holi.
