Samsung Galaxy SIII: Yet again, Samsung is number 1. With a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display, a fine 8MP camera, quad-core processor and Android ICS onboard, the Galaxy SIII had it all one could have dreamt about. (Text by Nidhi Singal)
Apple iPhone 5: It might not be 'the' best smartphone of the year, but it can definitely give the Galaxy SIII tough competition. This sixth avatar of the iPhone has got a 4-inch display and at 112 grams feels very light. It has got an A6 processor, almost double of the iPhone 4S, and manages to offer 8 hours of battery backup. HTC One S: We were impressed with HTC One X, but the HTC One S came across to be a better device. With a 4.0 inch display, it was not only a great looking Android smartphone but the 1.7GHz dual core processor paired with 1GB RAM also gave tough competition to the HTC One X. Browsing and gaming, everything was fun over this smartphone. (Text by Nidhi Singal)
Nokia 808 PureView: The Nokia 808 PureView is a superb camera phone that could pose a challenge to even some DSLRs in the market. It has a 41MP camera sensor for a maximum output resolution of 38MP. (Text by Nidhi Singal)
Samsung Galaxy Note II: Samsung has worked hard over the Note 2 as it successfully managed to overcome the shortcomings on the original Note. Even with the 5.5-inch display, the Note 2 is extremely comfortable to hold. An improved interface and enhanced S-Pen now come with a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and the latest Android Jelly Bean. (Text by Nidhi Singal)
