Home furnishings retailer IKEA India recently opened its store in Navi Mumbai on the Thane-Belapur Road. Two smaller format stores will follow in Mumbai's city centre during 2021. Following Mumbai, IKEA plans to focus on Delhi, NCR and Bangalore for expansion.

Farmers protesting the agricultural laws on Sunday alleged that their Facebook and Instagram accounts were blocked following a live broadcast, sparking the debate about online censorship. Thousands of farmers, mainly from Punjab and Haryana, have been protesting against the laws for the last over four weeks at various border points of Delhi and demanding that the legislations be repealed.

Air India privatisation likely to conclude in next fiscal

State-owned carrier Air India is likely to conclude privatisation in the next fiscal as the divestment process may take a little over three months of 2020-21, said an official. The government is selling its entire 100 per cent stake in Air India. The national carrier has been in losses since its merger with domestic operator Indian Airlines in 2007.

Apple puts iPhone-maker Wistron on probation

Apple has put iPhone-maker Wistron on probation following the debacle at Karnataka's Naraspura plant. The company had said that it is investigating whether the Taiwanese contract manufacturer Wistron defied its supplier rules. Apple said that it has hired independent auditors who along with the Apple employees are investigating the matter. Last week, Wistron Infocomm Manufacturing's facility was ransacked by Apple employees over allegations of unpaid wages and exploitation.

Health ministry calls urgent meeting on Monday over new Covid-19 variant in UK

The Union Health Ministry has called an urgent meeting of its Joint Monitoring Group on Monday to discuss the emergence of a mutated variant of the coronavirus in the United Kingdom (UK), which has been identified to be up to 70 per cent more infectious.
