Asserting that the number of daily inoculations in the country has come down, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday said vaccination is the key to controlling the pandemic but the government does not seem to care. He shared a graph showing the decline in the number of vaccine doses administered during April and May (till 20th) and pointed out that the average number of vaccination per day has fallen below the daily production.
Kia Motors rebrands itself as Kia India
South Korean automaker Kia on Monday said it has officially changed its name in the country to Kia India from Kia Motors earlier. The change of name is part of the company's new brand identity which symbolises it becoming an enterprise that invests in and produces more than just vehicles to offer a long range of sustainable mobility solutions, it said.
Roche's COVID-19 antibody cocktail launched in India at Rs 59,750 per dose
Pharma giant Roche India has received the Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA) for a COVID-19 antibody-drug cocktail Casirivimab and Imdevimab in the country for the treatment of coronavirus patients. The drug cocktail is developed by Roche and Regeneron. The approval was granted by the Central Drugs Standards Control Organisation (CDSCO) basis data filed with the US regulators as well as the scientific opinion of a European regulatory panel.
Bitcoin price recovers to $38,403 after Elon Musk's meeting with miners
Bitcoin price advanced to reach a high of $39,944 on Monday after plunging to a low of $31,132 on Sunday. At the time of filing the report, Bitcoin price was 8.88 per cent up at $38,403.95. The recovery in the Bitcoin freefall was seen after a new Bitcoin Mining council, spearheaded by Tesla chief executive Elon Musk and MicroStrategy chief executive Michael Saylor, held a meeting with Bitcoin miners in North America to appreciate their efforts towards making operations greener.
COVID-19 second wave: Diageo India pledges Rs 45 crore to support public health infra
Alcohol company Diageo India has pledged Rs 45 crore to support country's public health infrastructure amidst the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. Through this initiative, the company will help nodal government hospitals in 21 districts to set up pressure swing adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants to create long-term oxygen capacity, Diageo said in a statement.
