With the e-commerce market booming, a New-Delhi based startup Supplified.com will now be selling construction materials online.
The company's primary expertise is in selling raw materials and finished products for construction or renovation of houses and buildings - with a smaller specialised segment slotted for cleaning products. A versatile model as it appears to be, Supplified.com could be an alternative easier and faster route to getting all kinds of genuine construction material in one place at standardized price.
Supplified has been founded by Mohit Goel, CEO Omaxe Ltd and Nalin Saluja, Director SPR Buildtech.
"According to our research 81 per cent of the time, people do not entirely depend on the contractor and want to personally take on the task of closely monitoring procurement of construction materials. Everyone wants to find the best quality at a good price. Like it is in the rest of the country, the entire market of construction material is unorganised and is scattered in different areas all over the city. The entire route of navigating different areas like Chawri Bazaar, Bhagirath Palace etc with non-regulated prices is extremely frustrating and time consuming for builders and contractors alike. That is where Supplified.com comes in," Goel said.
"We're building an encyclopaedia of construction, specific to the Indian market. Our knowledge portal, Supplipedia has on-ground insights from experts who have been in this business for more than 40 years. Not just this, we'll be helping you compare and monitor fluctuations in prices of raw materials and also have a price prediction meter which will be of help to you when forecasting price-change over the coming few days," Saluja said.
The Supplified team has already completed an order book of over 100 cr and 500 crore is in pipeline worth of purchase.
The Supplified offers raw construction material (like cement, steel, bricks and aggregates), finished goods for building (like doors, paints, plumbing, electrical), finished utility products for kitchen (like chimneys and water purifiers), bathrooms (like tiles, showers, sanitary ware), building cleaning and maintenance supplies (like window cleaners and mops) and office goods (like chairs, tables and stationery).
The start-up company has over 500 vendors listed on its platform from New Delhi. On the buyer's front, it expects a traffic of 2500 customers a day by December 2015.
"We don't have to beat competition really - most existing players are only reference points to us. Our philosophy is to be a credible guide to our customers - to stay transparent, credible, knowledgeable and approachable. That's how long term relationships can be formed. " Goel said.
