IndusInd Bank is one of India’s largest private-sector banks. The bank is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The story of IndusInd Bank began in April 1994 when it was incorporated by S.P. Hinduja, a prominent NRI businessman and philanthropist. The bank was promoted by Hinduja along with several other members of the Indian diaspora. IndusInd Bank derives its name from the ancient Indus Valley Civilization. IndusInd Bank’s first branch was located at Opera House, Mumbai. IndusInd Bank launched its Initial Public Offer (IPO) in 1997. In the same year, it expanded to 18 branches and 11 ATMs. During the late 1990s, IndusInd Bank expanded its business portfolio with the introduction of new services such as FAST Forex, Indus Home, Indus Estate, etc. It also launched net banking services in 1998. During 2001-2003, IndusInd Bank launched a number of loan products such as home loans, personal loans and auto loans. IndusInd Bank merged with Ashok Leyland Finance in 2004. Ashok Leyland Finance, at that time was one of the biggest NBFCs in the country. In the same year, IndusInd Bank opened a representative office in Dubai. In the following year, it opened its second representative office in London. By the end of 2005, IndusInd has over 100 branches across India. IndusInd Bank entered the credit card business in 2011 after acquiring Deutsche Bank's credit card business in India. In 2015, IndusInd Bank purchased the Diamond & Jewellery financing business of Royal Bank of Scotland N.V. As of March 2022, IndusInd Bank operates over 2300 branches/banking outlets. It has 2894 ATMs across India.

Apart from banking services, IndusInd Bank also offers several investment products such as mutual funds, insurance and portfolio management services. Forex services offered by IndusInd Bank include foreign currency accounts, travel cards and remittance services. IndusInd Bank also provides wealth management services. Life insurance, health insurance and general insurance are some of the insurance products and services offered by IndusInd Bank. IndusInd Bank’s digital banking services are internet banking, mobile banking and phone banking.
